SDForum SearchSIG – “Product Search” – Tuesday Feb. 13, 2007 – 6:30 PM at Yahoo! with Yahoo! Shopping, Shopzilla, TheFind, DottedPair

January 30, 2007

So it’s all set. The next SearchSIG will be on product search. The panel will have representatives from Yahoo! Shopping, Shopzilla, TheFind, and DottedPair. It will be moderated by Brian Smith of ComparisonEngines.com.

Expect a lively discussion on the future of product search, monetization, user experience, and technology. Yes, I said lively. These guys all have a different approach to guiding customers to and through their site to find the right product at the right price.

Product search engines were the first true vertical search applications. Anyone interested in vertical search, e-commerce, feed management, and advanced search user experiences should check this out.

wow. we had a great event last night, with over 200 people attending to hear presentations by the founders of Del.icio.us, Digg.com, Wink.com, and Kaboodle.com, moderated by blogger/analyst extraordinaire Charlene Li. (& many thanks to those patient enough not to kill us while we sent for extra pizza!)

Quick write-ups on the Audio Seach session

September 30, 2005

This first session was a great success (not that we want to toot outr own horn). Besides a few logistics problems (such a the stack of pizza disappearing in an unbelievable time), our first meeting was a success. We had a great line-up of experts, interesting discussions, and a great audience – which we hope to see again every month.

A number of great posts have been written by some of our attendees: Mike Rowehl, Elisa Camahort (with a bonus), Ho John Lee, Tara Hunt and Dorrian Porter.
